Trails Updates from the USFS as of July, 20, 2016
Sending a big thanks to the USFS for clearing trails in the Telluride region. Please let us know if there are any trails or sections of trails that you would like to see cleared in the comments section.
Current Trail Work:
*Lone Cone Trail: clear downed logs (7/18)
* Lizard Head Trail and Elk Creek Trail: clear downed logs (Likely 7/19-7/20)
* Wasatch and Wasatch Connection: brush out (Likely 7/21)
Updated list of trail work done to date:
Alder Creek: clear until Wilderness boundary on SW side 7/13
Eider Creek: clear as of 7/5; still a lot of overgrowth
Wasatch: clear from Bear Creek to Wasatch Connection 7/6; still a lot of overgrowth
Wasatch Connection: clear of trees, still snow patches that are difficult to pass, 7/6; still a lot of overgrowth
Deep Creek: cleared from SR637 (water treatment plant) to SR638 on 6/2
Galloping Goose: cleared 5/26
Hope Lake: good until about half way up. As of 6/26 some switchbacks still have snow
Jud Weibe: cleared 6/24
Lizard Head: cleared until Wilderness boundary 6/14
Sunshine: cleared from highway 145 to Ilium Rd 6/3
Thunder Trails: cleared
Woods Lake: cleared 6/8
Woods Lake Shoreline: cleared 6/7
Indian Trail: cleared 5/17
Ski Area Trails:
Village Trail: cleared 6/23
Prospect: cleared 6/29
Sheridan: open
Basin: open
Coonskin: open
See Forever: open
Telluride: open
Ridge: open
Camel’s Garden: open
