Our team spent the morning tagging fir trees along the T35/Sunshine Trail with pheromone packets to help prevent beetle kill. If you see little green packets on trees around the county this summer, that’s what they’re for!

The annual Used Outdoor Gear Drive is NEXT WEEKEND

The annual Used Outdoor Gear Drive is NEXT WEEKEND, and we need your help to fill the trailer!
Bring your gently used outdoor gear to Carhenge on May 15 & 16 from 10am–2pm. Donated gear will then be distributed for FREE to those in need at the Community Fiesta and Latino & Indigenous Ski Day.
This will be our fourth year running this program, and we're hoping to make it the most successful one yet! Thanks in advance for the support. (:

We know our community is disappointed by the closu

We know our community is disappointed by the closure of the Telluride Bike Park this summer. Lift-accessed, downhill terrain is a unique experience and nothing truly replaces those laps.
That said, there are still many miles of incredible trails to ride across our region, and we’re committed to keeping them in the best possible shape all season long. We even hired another maintenance staff to increase our capacity!
Here’s your reminder to use us as a resource, let us know when there are issues, and don’t let the bike park closure be the reason you skip tuning up your bike this spring.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to care for the beautiful places that we love so much. Today and every day, we remain committed to maintaining trails, advocating for public lands, and expanding access to outdoor recreation.

We’re back on the trails! This week, we cleared the deadfall from Eider to Mill Creek Connector, Eider Creek and the east side of Deep Creek. Next week, we’re prioritizing Jud Wiebe, the west side of Deep Creek and the Galloping Goose.
Keep an eye on our Spring Trails Report (linked in bio) to stay updated on what trails are cleared and what trails are dried out.
And don’t forget to send us your observations - they help us prioritize our work and keep the community informed!

Spring cleaning? Hold on to your used gear and give it to us at the annual Used Outdoor Gear Drive!
We collect your donated gear and distribute it for free to community members in need. Outdoor equipment can be expensive - this program helps make the outdoors more accessible to everyone.
See you on May 15 & 16 from 10am - 2pm in the Carhenge parking lot!

We’re disappointed to see the 150+ feet of piping

We’re disappointed to see the 150+ feet of piping at Mystic Falls - presumably placed there in an effort to create ice climbing routes this past winter. While we love ice climbing, we don’t love seeing impacts like this on our public lands.
We hope whoever placed the piping will remove it and refrain from doing so again. This has happened in previous years, and community members have stepped in to clean it up. We’ve brought this to the attention of the USFS, and they’re working on a plan to address it.
Let’s respect our public lands and work together to prevent this from happening again!
