@mountaintrip has secured Lauren Glass, LPCC, Mental Health Therapist, and consultant to lead us through mastering tools to stay safe, including emotional intelligence and stress/nervous system response.

Join the Peter Inglis Avalanche Education Fund for

Join the Peter Inglis Avalanche Education Fund for the “Local Stoke Ski Movie Night” next Friday, December 8th at 5:30pm at the Telluride Arts HQ on Main Street. This is a free event but capacity is limited. Doors open at 5:15pm.
We’ll be screening three short ski films from local athletes and filmmakers, highlighting some of the PI Fund’s Winter Programs, and creating some stoke for the winter to come!

-Cleared 135 trees across 14 trails
-Enhanced 32 miles across 18 trails
-Completed Deep Creek reroute
-Submitted a 22-mile trails proposal
-Created timelines with SE Group for NEPA analysis
-Hosted events on mental health and water in the West
-Completed year two of our free outdoor gear drive
-Continued stewardship of the Telluride Via Ferrata
-Supported the PI Avy Fund’s programming

More recaps from 2023!
In the spring, we aided the USFS’ efforts on the reroute and rockfall mitigation project on the Mill Creek / Waterline Trail.

In collaboration with San Miguel County and Mountain Trip, we improved the climbing access trails at the Society Turn Climbing Wall. We also designed and paid for new signage.
🪨
This summer, we completed maintenance to improve the Sunshine / T-35 Trail. The trail now has better sustainability, increased drainage, widened and buffed turns, improved sightlines, wider trail tread, and more.

Continuing down recap lane…With the help of generous donors and creative crafters, we were able to build and install two benches on the Eider to Mill Creek Connector Trail. The benches are already a favorite to take in the sweeping valley views.

The Deep Creek reroute and maintenance project is officially wrapped up for the season! Jordan Carr, TMtC Trails Director, spent the last few weeks doing final drainage work and massive brush cutting along the entire trail. We hope you are loving the improvements and new 1.9-mile reroute.

Telluride Mountain Club helps steward the Society Turn Climbing area in partnership with San Miguel County (who owns the land). This year we designed and paid for new signage and did trail work (thanks for your help with that @mountaintrip!). We check in on the crag and trail each fall and spring. If you have ideas for improvement, let us know.

It’s been almost 10 years since the inception of Telluride’s groundbreaking Backcountry Radio Program (the 1st in the country) and the Pi Fund is conducting a survey to find out how it’s working and what we can improve.

The new Deep Creek reroute trail alignment is officially connected with the existing trail and is open to the public!
The new 1.7-mile stretch prioritizes environmental sustainability and recreational enjoyment.
While we’re wrapping up some hand work and minor maintenance along the remaining trail sections, we’re aiming to complete the entire project by month-end.
