The Telluride Mountain Club will be hosting three nights of skill building courses at the Indoor Climbing Gym in the next few weeks.
Thursday, February 26: Maximizing Your Training at the Climbing Gym
Thursday, March 5: Preventing Climbing Injuries
Tuesday, March 10: Belay Escape
The climbing gym is located inside the Telluride High School, the door to access the gym is to the left of the Palm Theatre entrance. The skill building courses are free and open to the public. The cost to climb at the gym following the course is $5.

Maximizing Your Training at the Climbing Wall with Dave Chew
This is an evening dedicated to getting as much as possible out of training at the climbing wall. We will go over different techniques and tricks to improve your strength. We will look in depth at power, endurance and fitness for the climbing gym and beyond.
Dave Chew has been climbing for eight years and has been coaching at the gym for all levels of climbing for four years.

Preventing Climbing Injuries with Alison Palmer
This is a session dedicated to the discussion and hands on training of injury prevention for climbing. We will look at why particular injuries occur and Alison will give advise on exercises to help maintain structural balance within the body, improve efficiency and reduce the chance of injury.
Alison Palmer is from Alison Palmer Physical Therapy and Wellness Center at the bottom of lift 7 in Telluride.

Belay Escape Course
This course will go over belay escape fundamentals. Learn how to get yourself out of a pinch while multi pitch climbing. Belay escape is a fundamental skill all climbers should know.
Jace Ferrimani is a lead guide for Telluride Adventures and has an extensive background in climbing and guiding.
