THANK YOU for your membership donation to Telluride Mountain Club!
Your membership donation supports the Telluride Mountain Club’s mission to advocate for safe, accessible, enjoyable and respectful opportunities for human-powered recreational activities in the Telluride region, through education, awareness and collaboration.
Your donation comes with a TMtC membership through the end of this calendar year. This allows you to attend our winter and summer events (free), volunteer days and more. As an example, if you become a member in July, your membership will expire December 31.
The Telluride Mountain Club has been busy with many ongoing projects over the past few years. In 2017, we submitted the first trails proposal for the Telluride region and recently, we released our Trails Sustainability Plan. This strategic document helps outline trail planning and execution needs in our region for the long-term future and is intended to be a guiding document that will evolve over time. Our goal is to help create a sustainable and well-linked trail system that will accommodate increased usage as Telluride’s trails become more popular.
In parallel to this project, we launched a new fundraising initiative, Opt in for Trails. Our hope is that the community will get creative to help fund the large and ongoing expenses associated with trails planning, execution and maintenance in our region.
In addition to our trails projects, we are working hard to protect Telluride’s Via Ferrata and keep it free and open to the public. We coordinate with the local guide companies and volunteers to keep this route safe for public enjoyment.
Each summer, with the help of climbing volunteers, we are able to implement bolt and anchor replacements on local climbing routes to make our crags safer. We work hard to run the adult indoor community climbing gym in the winter as an alternative form of recreation in our ski community.
In the winter months, Telluride Mountain Club coordinates with the PI Avalanche Education Fund to bring awareness to backcountry safety and education in our region.
Our advocacy of Telluride’s backcountry spans beyond these initiatives and we can’t thank you enough for your support. We truly appreciate your generosity!
